Surface Microbial Contamination and Air Quality before and after Regular Cleaning Procedures

چکیده

Studies on indoor air quality (IAQ) have linked exposure to microorganisms in a variety of illnesses. The association between quality, surface contamination, and IAQ under heterogeneous cleaning procedures are all crucial factors that were investigated this study. ATP bioluminescence test demonstrated significant correlation (r = 0.89; p 0.05) with bacterial count obtained from swab specimens moderate 0.57; 0.001) viable settling count. For the entire sample (pre- post-cleaning), values heterogeneous, averaging 230 RLU/100 cm2, 140 120 135 99 80 offices, classrooms, toilet doorknobs, reception desks, main lobbies, exit respectively. An insignificant outdoor PM2.5 0.21; 0.05), an I/O ratio average value 1.2, CO2 exceeding 1 suggest minor impact air. After cleaning, fungal counts surfaces showed reduction, suggesting effective. concentrations VOC but not HCHO significantly affected by temperature or relative humidity (RH). We propose as surrogate for detecting contamination rather than which requires additional validation. results active microbial sampling (in CFU/m3) plates CFU/m2/h) be interpreted independently avoid confusion.

Microbial air quality and bacterial surface contamination in ambulances during patient services.

OBJECTIVES We sought to assess microbial air quality and bacterial surface contamination on medical instruments and the surrounding areas among 30 ambulance runs during service. METHODS We performed a cross-sectional study of 106 air samples collected from 30 ambulances before patient services and 212 air samples collected during patient services to assess the bacterial and fungal counts at t...

Microbial surface contamination after standard operating room cleaning practices following surgical treatment of infection.

At the authors' institution, some joint arthroplasty surgeons require the operating room to be terminally cleaned before using the room after infected cases, in theory to decrease exposure to excessive microbial contamination for the subsequent patient. The authors found no guidance in the literature to support this practice. To test this theory, the authors measured microbial surface contamina...

Microbial contamination of hospital reusable cleaning towels.

BACKGROUND Hospital cleaning practices are critical to the prevention of nosocomial infection transmission. To this end, cloth towels soaked in disinfectants are commonly used to clean and disinfect hospital surfaces. Cloth cleaning towels have been linked to an outbreak of Bacillus cereus and have been shown to reduce the effectiveness of commonly used quaternary ammonium disinfectants. Thus, ...

The index of microbial air contamination.

The standard index of microbial air contamination (IMA) for the measurement of microbial air contamination in environments at risk is described. The method quantifies the microbial flow directly related to the contamination of surfaces coming from microbes that reach critical points by falling on to them. The index of microbial air contamination is based on the count of the microbial fallout on...
